There are so many ways to relax in order to feel stress free on your wedding day and different things work for different people.  For some it might be a complete body massage whereas for others it might be a gentle game of golf.  Following are just a few ideas for you to think about:

Acupuncture for the Bride

This is not for everyone but for a select few, even those who are afraid of needles, the experience can be very therapeutic.  Very fine needles are inserted into specific areas on the body and their manipulation can enable the acupuncturist to relieve any pain symptoms you have, or to just give you a general sense of well being.

Bridal Facials

Brides Skin Regime

Your skin care regime should start a few months before your wedding date, you don’t want to look pale or even shiny on those close up photographs.  Ensure you use the right cleanser, toner and moisturiser for your skin tone and a good exfoliater is very important.  Don’t exfoliate too much though, you want your skin to glow on the day not be red and sore.

Skin care treatments can also include:

  • Dermatological skin treatment.  Designed to give you a healthy glow.
  • Face mask.  A cream or gel designed to rub onto your face that once rinsed or peeled off removes the dead skin cells and impurities.
  • Hydro Active Mineral Salt Scrub.  This will leave your skin silky smooth and polished.
  • Mud or Hydro packs.  These hydrate your body, as well as detoxify it.

Bridal Massage

Massage covers a lot of areas, the whole body, the head, just the hands and feet or perhaps a nice back massage.  Whichever is your preference, relaxing on the table while someone else smoothes everything away should be a heavenly experience.  A massage can help you with any tightness or tension you have and is great for relaxing your muscles.

Various massages include:

  • All over Body / Swedish massage.  An intensive treatment involving the whole of your body allowing you to relax and enjoy not only the sensation but also the aromas of the specially mixed oils.  Can help with circulation and tension.
  • Hot Stone Massage.  Deep heat, as well as pressure, help with your circulation and can decrease pain as well as speed up your metabolism.
  • Hydrotherm Massage.  While lying on mats filled with warm water you are massaged between your body and the couch.  This is a comfortable way for those who are pregnant or large chested to relax but be aware that the pressure can sometimes be very firm.
  • Pressure Point Massage.
  • Reflexology.  This foot massage is designed to get your energy flowing by stimulating the points on your feet that relate to various points on your body.
  • Scalp or Indian Head Massage.  Helps to smooth away any tension working on the neck and the shoulders too.  Great for eye strain and insomnia.

Spiritual Treatment for Brides

Not everyone is comfortable with these treatments but some will enjoy having a psychic consultation.  Not only can you receive a reading, be it by Tarot cards or Palmistry, many spiritual advisors can also offer you:

  • A hypnosis treatment or even teaching you self hypnosis.
  • Crystals or Chakras.  A solid material believed to amplify your spiritual energy allowing your healing energy to be enhanced.
  • Life coaching skills.
  • Reiki.  The laying of hands over areas of your body which claim to guide your energy.

Aromatherapy for Brides

This ancient process can be used in conjunction with massage and facials.  The oils used to rub onto your skin can really benefit your relaxation process.  They are also used as a smelling agent and there is a huge range of smells, all with different healing actions.  Items used can include:

  • Bath salts and oils.
  • Candles.
  • Diffusers and oil burners.
  • Dried flowers / Pot pourri.
  • Incense.
