Wedding Gifts
Fruit was traditionally given to the bride and groom as a wedding gift. In modern times the bride and groom will often prepare a wedding list to avoid receiving any unwanted fruit.
So you’ve been invited to a wedding. Only problem is the bride and groom have not sent out a wedding list. So what are you going to get them as a wedding gift?
No, don’t get them a toaster, all the other guests are going to get them one. Why not get them something different, something they would want as a wedding gift, rather than have them end up having to put 35 toasters onto e-bay because, lets face it, you can only eat so much toast!
Still no ideas, then I suggest you contact them and ask them what would they like as a wedding gift. Most bride and grooms feel embarrassed if asked ‘what can we buy you?’ but eventually they will give an answer. If you are too embarrassed to ask the question, then you could take the plunge get them an alternative wedding gift.
Activity Wedding Gifts
If the couple are very active you may want to conside an 'Activity' gift. There are a number of companies offering activity wedding gifts such as:
- Hot air balloon trips
- Orient Express trips
- London Eye Champagne flights
- Dance lessons
- Trips to the theatre
- Time capsule wedding gifts
- Name a star after the happy couple
- Dolphin watching around parts of the UK coastline
- Hunt the Nessie
- Horse riding
- Bungee Jump at a location in the UK
- Adopt an animal on their behalf
These wedding gifts offer the bride and groom an experience that they are sure never to forget!
Ok, if your worried that your friends may not appreciate an activity gift then you could always get them some vouchers for high street shops, or if they are buying a house maybe DIY stores. It's not novel, but it is clever, and a safe option, as there is often no expiry date, so they can use them whenever, and on whatever they like. In short they can buy their own wedding gift!
Wedding Gifts from the Bride and Groom
If you are the bride and groom you may like to buy your 'special guests' a thank you gift - your bridesmaids, best man, flower girls, page boys and so on. Often a small gift than can be personalised and kept to hold the memory for the future is a great idea.
Flowers make a great gift for the Mother of the Bride and Mother of the Groom - or any other elder females that have really helped with your wedding.
