Brides Necklace - Part II
Body Considerations
-
For the flatter chested brides, long thin chains will look good
on you. - Heart Shaped Face: The sharp angle of the chin will be softened by a choker, giving a more balanced look.
- If you are from 5'4" - 5'7', you can wear necklaces of any length.
- If you are petite, go for daintier pieces. If you have a larger build, go for something chunkier. Your necklace should be in proportion to your body.
- If you have a large chest, choose a necklace that fits above the neckline of the dress rather than a longer one that hangs over your chest and dangles awkwardly.
- Oval Face: An oval face is lucky enough to be able to wear any length of necklace.
- Rectangular and Oblong Faces: Will suit choker necklaces as they reduce the length of the face.
- Round Face: An Opera length necklace will suit a rounder face.
- The taller brides who are over 5'7" in height, they can wear longer necklaces of any length.
- Those of you who are below 5'4" in height, a collar or princess length necklace will look best. V-Shape styles or Matinee necklace length will add a bit of height and make you look taller.
Hair Style
If the hair is to be worn up then opt for simple stud earrings and a bolder necklace such as a choker, or try drop earrings with a simpler necklace.
If you are choosing to wear your hair down then select a necklace that compliments your whole look but does not get lost in your hair, something that stands out on its own.
Colours
Many brides will stick to the traditional pearls, diamonds, white or
yellow gold for their jewellery. However coloured gems and crystals are
also very
popular. People are choosing their wedding colours depending on their
symbolism, significance and as an affirmation of their relationship.
Whether the
stones are real or not, i.e. Garnets or just red swarovski crystals it
is the colour and what it represents that counts. Examples include:
- Black: Dramatic, classy, committed and serious.
- Blue: Tranquillity, love, acceptance, patience, understanding, cooperation, comfort, loyalty and security.
- Green: Money, health, food, nature, hope, growth, freshness, soothing, sharing and responsiveness.
- Orange: Steadfastness, courage, confidence, friendliness, cheerfulness, warmth, excitement and energy.
- Purple: Royalty, sophistication and religion.
- Red: Power, strength, action, passion and sexuality.
- White: Pure, fresh, easy, cleanliness or goodness.
- Yellow: Caution, brightness, intelligence, joy and organisation.
Whatever neckwear is chosen, it should make you, the bride, feel beautiful, compliment your dress, make you feel like a queen for the day and give you lasting memories of the most special day in your life. You will also acquire a beautiful piece of jewellery that can be worn again and again!
