Places to Visit in Paris

Your days can be spent relaxing in the glamorous coffee bars while shopping in chic fashionable stores, taking guided tours around the city, sightseeing or cruising down the River Seine to name just a few. Some ideas to help you along the way are:

  • The Eiffel Tower. No trip to Paris would be complete without visiting the Eiffel Tower where from the viewing platform you can on a clear day see for over 65kms. The best time to see the tower at its best is during the evening when it is lit up by 20,000 bulbs every ten minutes on the hour and can be seen by almost every point in the City.
  • The Moulin Rouge. One of the top Parisian cabarets, home to the world famous can-can with dinner and dancing could be just the beginning of your evening.
  • Le Tambour Bar. This classic 'nighthawks' bar is decorated throughout with vintage transport chic. With its bus-stop barstools and slatted wooden banquettes you can party from dusk until dawn. Open for 24 hours you can kick back and while away a few hours.
  • The Louvre. A map is advised if you are planning on a trip to the Louvre to see the 300,000 works of art that are on display. Even with a map or a guided tour you will not get to see everything. Tickets are valued for all day and you will be able to leave to have lunch to do some other activity before returning to this massive building. Be sure to check when certain works of art are being shown if there is something particular like the Mona Lisa you wish to see.
  • Notre Dame Cathedral. This beautiful gothic cathedral is a major tourist attraction. Meaning 'Our Lady of Paris' this is the most famous working Roman Catholic cathedral in the world with its apocalyptic gargoyles leering down on the city.
  • Berthillon. Finish off your visit to the Notre Dame Cathedral by crossing the road to enjoy what is called the most celebrated ice cream in town. Berthillon offers such delights as artifice free ingredients in a host of flavours with lashing of cream and five different chocolates.
