Kat and Ian's Wedding Story -17th April 2010
Well it all starts on the Thursday, me and my Sister/Bridesmaid Vicki head for our spray tans with the beautician, at 9.30am!!! Far too early for my
liking, but we get them done and then head into town to meet our Mum for dinner and a couple of glasses of wine and to chill before we had to head up
to the reception venue to set everything up.
My Brother-in-Law gave us a lift up and we start beavering away with chair covers, table centres, top table decoration and the setting up of the sweet table. It took us about 2 hours all in all, and it was a nice time "bonding" before the big day. Then I head home to meet Ian and then we have to head to Castletown to pick up cake number 1 and the hoop for my dress. That night we just have a relaxing evening, picked up the in laws to be from the boat and showed them to their flat for the weekend and then went home to bed.
Ian Not Listening to Me
Friday morning, stress kicks in, Ian not listening to me or following lists hehe, but I head out to the dentist for my scale and polish and then to the beauticians again for my manicure and pedicure, which my Sister had organised for me to have. She was already there with my Mum, she had organised some Cava for us all which was very nice.
Once that was done, it was a quick dash home for something to eat and then met my other Bridesmaid for a quick coffee and then went to get my acrylic nails done. I thought this was going to take an hour - 2 and a half hours later they are done, but I don't have time to go and do anything else in town!!
That night, got home for my bits and pieces say bye to Ian and head to Stacey's. We get a chinese take away, and Stacey had got more Cava for us, so we enjoyed a couple or so glasses of this. I had goody bags for the girls so gave these to them and Stacey had one for me. Then bed time! EEEKKKKKKK was getting excited by this time. Got to sleep about midnight and was awoken at 7.15ish AM by Stacey calling me a "lazy b*tch" and giving me a cup of coffee :)
Worked On From All Angles
We chilled had a few cups of coffee and a bacon sarnie, all was calm and relaxed and I didn't feel like I getting married in a few hours. Then Lynsey my friend and make up lady arrived and started, half way through my hairdresser Emma arrived, so I was being "worked on" from all angles. I felt like a star! I kept getting various text messages off my friends etc which nice. My mum and bridesmaids had all gone out to get their make up and hair done, so once Emma had finished I was on my own for about 10 minutes or so, so had time to think. I was getting excited and wanted to open the champers :)
I text Ian to see if he was ok, and he said that he was and was looking forward to seeing me soon and that he had missed me last night!! Awwww.
The girls came back and I was stood at the top of the stairs so they could see my hair, my Sister screamed and said that I looked like bloody Jordan of all people! Hehe. They were very impressed and I must admit it was ace!! We opened the champers and had a toast and a bit of a boogy to a few songs, and the realised we needed to get changed.
Me and my Sister went into one room and got me changed, but she struggled a bit getting the lacing up right so Stacey came in to help. Once I was "laced" up the girls got changed!! It was time for a few photos, a bit for champers and a boogy to some more songs. It was very relaxed and happy atmosphere, it felt good.
All I Kept Doing Was Giggling
Then it was time to go. The Merc turned up early, but was told to wait hehe. Got in the car, and the bubbles suddenly had gone to my head and all I
kept doing was giggling, well, until I got to the registry office and saw my Dad outside waiting for me, and 2 friends came down to see me go in
which I thought was so sweet - tears started!! I was also greeted by Amelie, my flower girl, who was very excited to see me. I composed myself and it
was time to go in and get married!!
I just remember looking around at everyone, and then looked at Ian who had a look of shock on his face!! He said, oh my god that hair!!! He liked it though.
Proceeded to giggle my way through the ceremony damn those bubbles, it was short but sweet and whilst waiting for the signing of the register Ian turns to me and says "oh I have a mic on, tell Daz that his flies are undone", I look up at Daz, he looks down and pulls a funny face, cue me laughing like a mad woman, in a quiet room and then everyone wondering whats the matter with me.
So once we signed the register, we were ready to go party!
Mount Murray
We were sent out the double doors of the room into the courtyard, had confetti thrown at us
from all angles and posed for a few pictures, and then headed up to the Lake at the Mount Murray for more pictures.
Once we were there, the driver opened a bottle of champers for us and we went for a wonder around being snapped and filmed. It was nice, just having a few moments to ourself to stop and talk about the events of the day so far. Once that was over with, it was time to go and greet our guests.
Everyone was already mingling and saying how nice the room was and well done for doing it all myself. I talked a few guests and then it was dinner time, I was starving!! Before I knew it, dinner was over with, mingled a bit more and then the evening reception started!!
In the evening we had quite a bit going on, Lauren singing, Marryoke, Photobooth and disco. It was the best, I enjoyed myself far too much, and I think everyone else did too.
It was the best day of my life, it just went far too quickly!!!
