Just curious to how you met your fiance/husband/wife etc?

Were you already friends before you got together?

I met my man on a forum!!

I was posting on one about a tv show for months and months and a group of us got talking on msn, I got talking to him a lot ( all night long on several occasion ) but not anything rude, just funny stories etc. We then swapped numbers and chatted on the phone for hours and hours.. a few weeks later we discovered that we were gonna be at the same place on the same day, even tho we live 300 miles apart! so we laughed and suggested meeting up for a drink n a chat, no pressure, just friends.
I didn't quite realize it at the time but i'd already fallen for him big time, and when I saw him in person it took me all of 3 seconds to know he was the one for me. It's funny cos at that time I'd had enough of men and wasn't looking for anything romantic, and he felt the same about women.. it's really true that when you're not looking it comes to find you.
We still live 300 miles apart but have been together for 15 months now, he's planning to move down here, and he really is the love of my life, he's magic!

My story is a bit boring - we met at the bank when we both worked there. We were friends for 14 months then got together.

Hi All,

I was a student at the time in Manchester and Dave was an IT contractor.

Dave and I met at my sisters house, my sister was getting married in a few weeks.
Dave had just moved down to Chelmsford and was staying with a mutual friend , who was my brother-in-laws Best Man.

We met in my sisters hallway.

I know this sounds incrediblely stupid but I fancied Dave from the moment I set eyes on him.

I asked my sister 'who is this drop dead gorgerous guy' and my sister said don't be so rude. So I replied with ok 'so who is this ugly bloke then'. I think my sister was so embrassed at this point she just walked off. (please bear in mind this was completely unlike my. I very very very very shy when in comes to men that I like).

But something happened that day.

Dave and I walked into the living room together and just got chatting from there and we didn't really talk to anyone else all afternoon apart from each other.

The next time I saw my sister I asked her to invite Dave to the wedding. I was one of her bridesmaids. On the day all the people at the top table had to say something, but for me for the first time in my life I was completely speachess.

I really wasn't myself at all and when people realised it was down to Dave people spent the rest of the night bringing Dave and I together on the dance floor - we were both sooooooooooooooooooooooooo embrassed I can't even begin to explain how we just wanted the earth to open up and swallow us whole.

We were left on the dance floor together and everyone else just watched. I couldn't bear it so I asked the DJ for something that at least we knew, such as 'Wonderwall', and he played it and we danced to it, and the rest as they say, is history.

Awww that's such a lovely story! I fancied my H2B, Dale as soon as I saw him. But I thought he's a bit young for me (I was 19 and he looked about 16 - you'll see what I mean when I post a pic later). Later I found out he was 4 years older than me! I was with someone at the time but we got together 14 months later.

Wow such sweet stories!!

I met Neil on the internet, 5 weeks after I'd split with my ex of 5 years! No point hanging around eh! ;)

We talked on msn a lot and quickly discovered we had a lot in common. Decided to meet a week after we started chatting and I thought he was gorgeous so that was that :) Wasn't looking for anything serious but it just sort of happened and I wouldn't change it for the world, he's brilliant

Hey Guys,

I'm a newbie to this so apologies if i make mistakes with posting things etc, but thought i'd have a go.

We met and secondary school, where we absolutely hated each other, after leaving school i went off to uni and he started work. I was back home during the summer holidays from uni and we bumped into each other in our local pub, where we got chatting and realised that we didnt hate each other anymore, the rest as they say is history. We have been together for 5 years and engaged for 1.

We met at a carnival, Vicky was on duty (St Johns Ambulance) and me and my friend who is also St Jons were up there walking about, when he needed to go to the St Johns tent to sort out some paperwork (he was of duty that day) so whilst he was there I got talking to Vicky for about 15 minutes.

After we left, I said to my friend, I liked her and asked him to get her number, he did, a couple of weeks later I took her out to dinner and we have been together ever since. that was about 4 years ago.

We then discovered we went to the same school at the same time (we are the same age) so our paths must have crossed many times.

Hey Shaz,

It happened pretty quickly so I don't even remember if I told any friends! I did tell my mum though and she was fine with it.

My best friend also met her man on the internet but she told her parents that she met him in a nightclub because she thought they'd disapprove of the internet! My parents would be more likely to disapprove of a nightclub!

I first met D when he was 13! He is my friends brother. I met my friend because my ex fiance went to college with him.

I met D again when he was 15 and I was 19. We got together when he was 17 and I was 21! 13 years we are still together and we have a 12 year old son.

Everyone said we wouldn't last. I left my fiance and lost my home to be with him. Best thing I ever did. :)
