The current poll is asking whether you think that the prices go up when you mention the word 'wedding'?
What is your experience? If they do, is it fair? Have you posed as having another 'party' (e.g. Grannies 70th) to get a price, then compared it to the price for a 'wedding' ?

I rang about a limo for the lads, was quote £90 for around an hours use. When I asked if they put ribbon on the car they asked if it was for a wedding so I said yes, price suddenly became £150!!!!!!

I would say definately! My venue's business conference meal seems a lot cheaper than the wedding meal - although they are extremely similar. I love that youtube sketch with the "cake" and the "wedding cake" - has everyone seen it?

I can't say I've experienced anything although I haven't asked for a price from people for their service if it wasn't for a wedding.

Same with cakes!!!!
Or the modern way of stacking cakes on top of each other which is cheaper still yet "wedding" cakes cost far too much, especially as these days a lot of them are made of sponge, which is pretty cheap compared to a good fruit cake, yet the reduction in materials does not reflect the cost!!!
Same goes for a dress.... get it in blue, red or whatever and it's a fraction of the cost of a white/ivory dress with the word "wedding" in front of it and the price is hiked far too much!! There was a TV programme about this a while back... price hike too on food and wine/champers... it's a rip off in many cases!!! Also look at the price of some wedding invites especially if it's just a picture on the front of the card and maybe a bit of ribbon!!!
Rant over!

I'm pretty chuffed because my prices don't alter for weddings
