As you may know we have Parenting forums over on Parenting Chaos - these include Babies thru to Teenages.

However, I also realise that lots of people on here also want to talk babies - whether be existing ones, their plans once they get married or coming back to chat with friends after you got married...

Posting on the Parenting Forums may mean that your friends over here won't see it - so often it gets posted in both places, or just here.

I don't want to start a 'baby' forum within Wedding Chaos and I don't want to ban the 'baby talk' either.

One option could be to import new threads from ParentingChaos into a single forum here. They would be read only and to reply you would have visit the original post.

Thoughts, comments, suggestions please :)

I agree - good idea, because Parenting Chaos isn't as busy as here you don't get as many opinions/ideas but if other people on here could see it then it would be good and would maybe increase the 'uptake' on PC?

I think its a really good idea. It keeps both areas active and members up to date without exclusion. It REALLY annoys me when communities start banning topics because although yes there will be a central core topic. If you don't allow other relevamt side topics in specific areas.
You kill the community.

don't want that.

Babies, love em, but couldn't eat a whole one!

Not a section that would interest me, though I'm sure it would lots of the members. I do end up whinging about step kids a fair bit mind you...

I agree there dosnt seem to be too many members on Parenting chaos somtime dont always get the answers to advice where as if both were together there would more people around to offer out advice.

Just wanted to clarify the 'suggestion'

New topics started on ParentingChaos (aka BabyChaos ) would appear as read only on Wedding Chaos.

If you wanted to reply you would still have to go ParentingChaos (with it's own login) to reply - but then the reply would not appear here - effectively the conversation continues where it started.

Still sounds good because people can still offer their advice.

Yes still think that's good as if people feel they have some advice or constructive comments on the thread they can head over to Parenting Chaos and join the fun there. Would give more people a flavour of what gets talked about over there.

I think it's a good idea, David. Parenting Chaos isn't very busy (it needs more people on there!) and it would (like you said) save people having to post things twice :)

I think it's a good idea.

Like you say stops duplicate posting here and there and it keeps the majority of "baby talk" "over there" as Wedding Chaos is sooo busy at the minute too. And of course like many others have said it should boost chat/postings over on parenting too.

:)

The new topics should now start appearing in Parenting Talk

Have not yet figured out how to bring over the original posters name yet though...

It grabs new topics every 30 minutes.
