Make up some goodie bags BUT keep it simple. Pens, paper, stickers, rubber, pencils, colouring in and puzzles :D

Nothing noisey  We aren't putting sweets in either.

eBay is fab for finding funky bags and I've found loads of things in tesco in their £1 boxes they do :D

I was careful not to give them felt tips, that way they can't get it on your dress!

Yeah I'm worried about making bags like this and including crayons or pens etc that could mark the table cloths or anything else. We didn't know if there would be kids there until recently, but I think there are about 8 invited now (though probably only about 5 will be there). Will need to start thinking of things for them, especially the Terrible Two that made us want to ban kids in the first place!

things like coloured pencils can't do too much harm (I don't think!). They love bubbles, colouring in, puzzles ect. Just watch out for anything inky, like pens and felt tips.

Rope

I'd check with the venue about bubbles (see my confetti and bubbles post ;)) as they may not be able to blow them inside incase they make the floor slippy

We had little boxes for the kids - general stuff such as crayons, puzzles, snap cards etc then I got specific things for each one; e.g. there were a couple of older boys who collected specific stickers so got them a couple of packets, got a Cinderella mini story books for couple of the younger boys.

We then had an area at the reception that was clear of tables etc and we had a pop-up tent with books, fuzzy felts, giant snakes and ladders and other bits and bobs in. Also had a couple of kids blow-up beds brought out at the night do for those tired moments (that's where Grace ended up crashing out!). Barely had any problems with the kids all day.

Unless any of my friends have kids before the wedding, we're only going to have one little baby, my 6 year old flower girl and my 8 year old cousin there. I figure I'll make them up some little activity bags but the girls will probably have fun playing with each other! (I hope)

I made up little activity bags for my brother's wedding last year, and they went down an absolute treat! There were only 3 children, all aged between 2 and 4, so easy to cater for.

I put in:

A colouring book
Colouring pencils
Playdough
A couple of toy cars
Toy mobile phone
Toy camera (the most popular item!)
Fuzzy felt
A picture book
Small cuddly toy
Mini jigsaw puzzle
and maybe a couple of other bits that I can't remember.

I decorated the bags in the wedding colours, and they kept the children happy all the way through the wedding breakfast!

I also took a few tiny boxes of raisins for the ceremony as well, and were fab for when the children got restless.
