I say if you are considering making your own flowers then please do it! It cost me £50 for all the flowers I needed from a flower market and I followed instructions given to me by a florist.

One tip is if you are making the bouquets and wrappign ribbon round them is to make sure the ribbon doesn't hit the water if you are keeping them in water overnight - otherwise you'll have to re-wrap them as the ribbon will get wet!

But do a trial run! I realised that when it took me 20 min to make a perfect buttonhole and I'd need to make 7 that doing it on the morning wasn't practical. Also, how long my irises lasted out of water etc...

Having done my bouquets, it is great to have that' i did tis' feeling, and you get exactly what you want. You do need at least one or two other people though to hold things etc...

Oh yeah a trial run!

I made my buttonholes the night before and put them in sandwich bags, sprayed water on the m and stuck them in the fridge. They were perfect :D

The bouquets I made the night before too and left the stems longer so that I could put them in water without the ribbon getting wet

I'm not getting married until 2013 but already have the flowers sorted :)
I found some really lovely silk roses with dew effect from a garden centre. the whole lot only cost £10 as they were a £1 per stem and ech stem had around 5 flower heads.
