Hi
My fiancé and I are getting married next year
We are getting legally married at a registry office with close family
The week after we are going to have a face ceremony with all our friends and family followed by the usually reception
We want some ideas on alternative ceremony ideas. Neither of us are at all religious and we don’t want to follow the usually format. I have decided not to have a best man and by brother and sister in law will be officiating the ceremony but don’t know how is should go
We want to do something different and fun and get people involved but its really hard to not follow the normal standard format.
Any ideas or scripts welcome
Thanks
Tom

Hi and welcome to the forum
If you have a look on this page http://www.weddingch...ng-ceremony.asp down the left hand side is some articles on 'different wedding ceremonies' that may kick start your answers.
Hope it helps.

It would really depend on your personalities and also wher in the country you are based.
An afternoon at Alton Towers might suit some people, whilst an afternoon tea dance might suit others.
Tell us a bit more about yourselves, where in the country you are and when you are getting married.

Hi Tom, just thought I'd say "welcome" I'm not sure what alternative options to suggest, unless you want something really daring like getting married whilst skydiving, or a danger factor, on the center circle at Norwich football club (as a Suffolk man I take it this would be awful for you!)
Hope the rest of the planning is going well.

Hi Tom,
Have you considered a humanist ceremony? I'm not sure it's a legal marriage (Bee?) so you'd probably have to pop into a registry office at some point, but the vows etc are a lot more grounded and spiritual than a religious or civil service.

Humanist ceremony is legal in Scotland but not Engald so you'd need to have a registry part before or after.
Humanist service means you can get married "anywhere thats deemed safe" so completely up to you!
