thanks hun :D

im sure im missing loads of things but got a year yet :D

we just cant decide on colours - thinking about Ivories,Chocolates & Golds - with some autumn coloured hints (Reds,Oranges,Greens) for the table decorations or something at the reception, like a jar filled with berries/nuts and a candle as the centre piece with some leaves & twigs scattered around it?

all i can think about is the wedding lately lol

Complete change of plan (at the minute lol)

We've decided on a very very small occasion now, and currently thinking it will be pointless doing an evening do for people not to turn up or leave before it starts & only have about 10 people there, IF that.

So we've now decided on close family & friends only.

We will have the ceremony, and then go for a meal after, most likely a Carvery, everyone loves a roast ;)
There will be just shy of 30 of us in total.

And our friends (Best Man/MoH & their kids) and my mum will probably be the only ones staying over, so we're gona have a mini party with some pizza/party food & Kinect on the XBox in the evening hehe.

We know we're gona upset a fair few people as they'd be expecting an invite, but we cant afford to pay out loads just for them to not turn up on the day as its too far to travel or something like that.

As its been drummed into us by a few people, its OUR Day do it how WE want, we have decided to. And never know, in a few years we might throw a bigger party/renewal of vows and invite more people then :)

Oh and Kel has found a car to take me to the wedding, makes me love him even more :D
When he nipped to Asda earlier, there was a guy with a gorgeous white Mitsi Evo 5 (one of my all time favourite cars) and Kel asked the guy if he would be interested in taking me to the reg. office, got his email addy & have to email him closer to the date to see if he still has the car :D am well chuffed, and he only wants petrol money for it :D Bargain Bonus!

Also means i get to spend more on my dress  :yahoo:

Feeling a bit low about the wedding :(

Its going to be smaller than we thought. People just cant be bothered to travel to us, yet expect us to travel to them for "Do's"

meh :(

don't you worry about a small do, the people that you mean the most to will be there! We had 2 witnesses at our wedding, that was it for the guest list! (one of my sisters & her husband) it was the best day of our lives, so don't you worry about a small do.

As long as you & your htb are there that is ALL that matters.

(oh and 2 people to be the witnesses!!)

Yeh if people can't be bothered to make the effort I wouldn't be bothered about them not being there. Also look on the bright side - less people to feed!

thats very true girls :) Thanks :) xx

Its just hurtful as they rally around for everyone else but cant for us. I just feel hurt for Kel tho :( His parents are no longer with us, i guess its occasions like this that show peoples true feelings/colours?

Like you've both said, the people that matter and care for us most will be there :)

If people dont like it then can go away, i dont want anyone ruining OUR day.

and will definitely save money on feeding people

Oh and Lovelybird did you do anything after the ceremony?xx

We're thinking of going for a Carvery as there will only be about 25 of us :)

Then people who want to leave after the meal can go, and if anyone else wants to stay a few hours/over can come back to ours for some nibbles, drinks & Kinect on the XBox

x

It's so annoying when people can't be bothered to do something so important to you. I too have had this problem as we are getting married an hour away from where most our family live, but i know I would travel several hours for them - and have done on many occassions! Some people are very selfish, and it is hurtful, but just focus on the people who WILL make the effort. In our case, the majority of OH family are not coming (only 10 out of 30+) and many of our friends have chosen not to go. I will remember who didn't make an effort for us and I definitely won't be doing anything for them in future! ;)

Very true hunni :) Will definitely make a note of it in the future :)

i dont think people realise how much hurt they can actually cause.

Thanks hun :) x

we had a meal at the complex where we got married (The Mill in Gretna Green) We had a lovely meal, then had a bit of an 'interval' for an hour or so, then reconvened for a 1st dance (lol!) and cake cutting photos and some quiet drinks and some buffet type nibbles & chatting
