Yoga, Sanskrit word for union, is the ultimate form of excercise and meditation needed to discipline the body, mind and soul and achieve oneness with the cosmic power. The sense of relaxation after a yoga session is fulfilling and provides inner peace.Yoga provides stability to health. The meditative technique helps to balance the Tridoshas of our body.
The cleansing and detoxing of the body is the primary goal of Yoga. The mind and body is purified and helps in better building up of health. It is similar to Ayurveda in its goal of achieving unity with the inner self to keep healthy.The form of Yoga that is commonly practiced is the Hatha Yoga and compliments the ayurvedic remedies for any ailment. The Hatha Yoga consists of a system of postures known as Asanas along with breathing excercise known as Pranayama. The Yoga Nidra, a special meditative technique, instills a deep sense of relaxation.
Yoga techniques that are to be practiced are prescribed by any yoga expert based on the Dosha of the individual. The different form of postures and breathing target different parts of the body and helps to maintain the health of body-mind and spirit. And for the Yoga to have beneficial effect on your body, the Prakruti or your body's nature is to be taken into account along with external factors. The opposite effect of Yoga will only worsen the medical condition rather than curing it.
