Hi guys

Am new to the forum, so apologies if this has been posted before

Just got my wedding booked for Spring next year, and we've decided to go away with our parents, then have a reception/party a few weeks later. Saves any hassle with family politics and obscure relations you've not heard from in years being offended 'cause you've not invited them! My question is, would it be weird to have a bridesmaid and flower girls for the reception, even tho I wouldn't be having them on the actual wedding day? I'd like to have my childhood friend and her daughters involved somehow, and they were going to be my bridesmaid and flower girls had we been going for a "normal" wedding.

Just looking for advice or any other ideas

I think whatever you want for your wedding day is your choice no matter what the reason is.

Today, weddings are so different, unique and totally personal to each couple and nobody seems to bat an eyelid to however you want to spend it.

Go for it and enjoy every second!

break the mold. just do what you want to make your wedding reception a day full of happy memories. there are no right and wrongs and it's up to you to call the shots. Who knows, you may inspire others to follow you.

When we were going to get married abroad I'd already decided that i'd have my friends as bridesmaids for the party back home (if they couldn't make it to the wedding abroad!)

I say "why not?!" its your day!
