Hello everyone, just thought I'd post a quick intro.

I'm 36 and live in Hertfordshire. I am getting married for the second time on 4th October 2014. Long story but I am finally marrying the man I should have married first time round. I met Mr Wonderful at work but we were too shy to tell each other we liked each other. so I married someone else. My first wedding was a huge rush, I was young and desperate to grow up quickly so we married at Gretna Green 3 months after we'd met, we didn't even have a reception. We lasted for 6 years and although we weren't suited I do have a wonderful son from it so it wasn't a complete waste of time.

A month after I'd split I bumped into Mr Wonderful, which was amazing having not seen him for 7 years. Anyway we got talking and the rest as they say is history. I've always said if I re-married I want to do it before my 40th. Mr Wonderful suggested we get married on the 4th October 2014, which is the day before :)

Although three years is a long time, we need to save up and I really want to plan every aspect of it and to have what we want. Its going to be a small, intimate wedding with lots of simple elegance.

Anyway that's my introduction, hello.

Thanks for the welcome :D Its all so exciting already. My venue (yeap we've already chosen it) is having a wedding fayre in November so my Mum and sister are coming with me as the other half will be working nights.

I already decided on lots of different things. With it being October I want an Autumn theme. My mum trained as a florist many years ago and although she hasn't done floristry for years she has long enough to practise :D

The other half's Mum is really into crafting so she will be making the invitations for us.

Even though its three years away there is already alot to do. Like thinking of hair styles and getting my hair and body into condition.

I'm really looking forward to hearing about your weddings and sharing my plans too.

love the autumn theme :) I was going to have a similar theme, but found it really hard to get a dress for my Maid of Honour in a colour we wanted so ended up changing it, LOVE Autumn tho, sounds great already :) x

Yeah the colours are going to take a bit of working out, especially as I want a red dress. Red is my favourite colour so it was only natural :) I'm thinking of having mainly Red with a little cream and having bridemaids in cream with matching red sashs. The only problem is that Red has been done to death.

Also we want Fish and Chips as a wedding dinner - again its been done to death but my partner is a Grimsby Man. Fish and Chips are part of his upbringing so we really wanted them. I just need to contact the local chippy and see if its logistically possible. Also my venue 'Hertford Castle' doesn't have a bar so I'm getting quotes from mobile bars.

I have expensive taste really but only if I deem it worth it. I've been really shocked how expensive things are because of the word 'wedding'. Caterers want £32 per head for the wedding breakfast (non fish and chip) which I think is outrageous for a bit of food.

It is amazing how a quote can change by the use of 1 word : Wedding.
barmy!

Love the Chippy idea :D even better as your other half is a Grimbsy man, sounds perfect :)

There's so many colour variations for autumn stuff im sure you'll find something :D xx
