Is the bride supposed to buy the groom a gift (and vice versa)?
If so what sort of thing?A keepsake or something you know the groom wants (e.g tools,Car stereo,Golf clubs).

Hi Paiten,
there are any rules about whether the bride and groom have to buy each other presents. however I did buy Dave a present and he bought me one as I said I wanted him to open some from me on the wedding day and vice versa
Do you know whether your H2B wants anything in particular?
If you do get him a keepsake try and get it engraved.

Paiten, not sure if you miss-read my post! I'm getting him a surprise present...your reply sounded as though you thought I said I was getting a surprise present from him!
He thinks it's pointless but I think it's quite sweet really if we get each other a present!

I'm organising for a casino company to have two tables playing roulette and black jack at the evening venue during the disco and buffet. I'm going to do a little speech at the time of the speeches and hand him an envelope with some chips in (chips as in money). When we were first planning the wedding he kept going on about having a casino and I was dead against it as I thought it would take over the whole night but after further enquires the company reasurred me that it wouldn't and they explained to me what would happen. So I thought it would be hilarious if I organised this for him as we had an argument about it! haha!

I am hoping to organise a sports car to pick him up from the house on the morning of the wedding, but that depends on the price...
He said he wants to get me a new car as a wedding present but we'll see about that! It would still be an old car but new to me.

that sounds like a great idea and I'm sure he'd love it, since he's so keen on car racing.

I would be tempted to contact the company you know about in Essex and ask of they offer coverage in Herts. Tell them your on a budget

I did a quick search just now and found one company who I've emailed for a quote so we'll see. Most places are so expensive, or don't hire for 1 day at weekends, only fri-mon for 3 times the price.

I am new to the site, but found your posting when I was looking for info about hiring a Dodge Viper to take me to my wedding! We haven't even set a date yet but it's my dream car so just wondered if you had the name of the company from the Wedding Fayre you went to - if you have could you let me know so I can keep hold of it for future reference!!
Thanks a million
Jo
