Hello and welcome!
This sounds like a brilliant idea!!! Myself and my husband plan to do the same thing ourselves on our 5 year anniversary. So we'll be getting married again on(or around) the 21st of August 2015
We're doing it for similar reasons. A smaller affair would be nicer and we also had such a good time at ours that we want to do it again. I plan to wear the same dress and everything!

I have to say though, i do think she was well within her rights to say those things. Of course its stuck up and snobby to think that way, especially in this day and age, but if thats what the MIL believes in, then the DIL should fall in line.
I wouldnt go round some poshies house and not expect to fall in line... It'd be embarrassing.
Funny though
and for the record, i dont have to get on with my MIL because my husband doesnt speak to her...
Incidentally, they dont talk to each other because she slagged me off a few years ago and of course my husband took my side
