31-JUL-2005 | Courageous Dawn Auty gets her Big Day
Two years ago Dawn Auty lost both her legs in a horrific accident on her way to church. Dawns wedding dress became tangled in a powerful motor trike, while Stephen Flood waited in the church.
Surgeons had to act immediate and amputate both Dawns legs at the scene. Dawn, has now been fitted with prosthetic legs.
Dawn has courageously battled through the many months of painful physiotherapy so that she could fulfill her dream and walk down the aisle.
Dawn, 44 and Stephen, 33, have found times very difficult, and at one stage the pressure was so great the couple split for a short time.
On Saturday though the couple were very much united on their Wedding day.
Speaking to the Mirror, former nurse Dawn, paid tribute to her husband Stephen, and said: "I love him so much and he's stood by me where others wouldn't," she said. "I always said we would get married - in our own time".
It just goes to show that some things are worth
waiting for. From everyone here at Wedding Chaos we wish
Dawn and Stephen
a long and prosperous married life.
