Geraint Evans - A Farm Romance
A Welsh farmer found true love by placing an ad on a carton of milk. Geraint Evans, 28 from Wrexham has had little time to go out and met women due to working long hours on a dairy farm. But he didn’t let that stand in his way, as he persuaded the company who process his herd’s milk to place a lonely hearts ad on their milk cartons.
Geraint couldn’t believe his luck when his ad was answered by Laura Allison. The 21-year-old American interior design student stumbled upon his ad when she popped into a supermarket near where Geraint lives, to pick up a pint of milk.
Laura was reported to have fallen for Geraint straight away, as she told North Wales, Daily Post: “I think I fell in love a little right there and then.”
Laura flew back to the US before she contacted Geraint. The couple started corresponding through emails and text messages progressing to phone calls. Then they both took the plunge and flew across the Atlantic to meet both respective families.
Geraint was reported to have said: “The first time we met was in Chicago when I flew out there to see her earlier this year.
“We’d arranged to meet at Chicago airport. Obviously she knew what I looked like from my photo on the bottle and she’d since sent me pictures of herself so I already knew how gorgeous she was.
“But when I got through the gate she was standing there with her mum and dad, so I couldn’t exactly scoop her up and give her a huge romantic snog like I’d planned."
That had to wait a little longer, but not too long.
“I spent a couple of weeks there and Laura’s just spent a fortnight in Wrexham with me and my family. We get on so well. This is the real thing and the sooner we can get wed the better, as far as I’m concerned. I’d marry Laura tomorrow. We share the same sense of humour and we’re both adventurous. We must be or we’d never have met.”
Nine months have pasted since the couple have been together and now they are making plans to get married.
This is one couple who will never cry over split milk. Sorry I couldn’t resist :)
