London Marathon Wedding
Champion fund raisers Katie and Gordon were looking for a novel way of raising money in aid of Help the Hospice, and they sure found it during Sundays London Marathon.
The happy couple tied the knot at this years London Marathon. Thousands of onlookers watched as Katie and Gordon stopped half way round the gruelling course, at Tower Bridge, to be met by the awaiting registrar. There they became husband and wife and with the wedding over they set off once again to complete the race in just over a mammoth 7 hours. Amazingly Gordon still had the strength in his legs to carry his blushing bride across the finish line.
Friends and family of the bride and groom were asked to donate to the charity rather than buy them wedding gifts. Consequently the couple has raised an incredible £11,600 to date.
Help the Hospices is a national charity, which gives time and care to people with incurable illnesses. If you would like to help continue the great work that Help the Hospice do then please make a donation today.
