It just goes to show that love can last. Percy and Florence Arrowsmith celebrated their 80th wedding anniversary earlier this week. The happy couple were married on June 1, 1925, after courting one another for three years. Guinness World Records had announced the couple hold two titles for the world’s longest marriage and in addition, their combined ages break the record for a married couple.
When asked the secret to their success, Floresence wisely advises never going to bed on a quarrel and never be afraid to say your “sorry”. Percy said his answer to martial bliss was just two words, “yes dear”.
Percy and Florence are proof of what a successful marriage is all about; love and compromise.
