The BBC Breakfast show host Natasha Kaplinsky’s image may have taken a bit of a battering this week for deciding to offer guests tap water, rather than bottled water, at her forthcoming wedding.

Kaplinsky, 32, currently earns around £250,000 and is set to marry wealthy investment banker Justin Bower, 32, later this month. Some might say if you are earning that sort of money then you can afford to splash out a little.

Although I admire Kaplinsky's self control in asking organisers not to spend more than £15,000 on the big day. All too often we see celebrities get carried away with the media hype surrounding their weddings and then spend thousands of pounds on a wedding for the media, rather than for themselves.

The couple are due to hold their wedding reception at Babington House, a luxury hotel near Bath.

Following Bowers proposal Kaplinsky said: "I didn't expect I'd ever get married so I feel so blessed." She added: "I'd quite like to get married in jeans."

Natasha Kaplinsky comments indicate that she is a girl who likes to keep her feet firmly on the ground, which countless other celebrities could learn a lot from.

Natasha Kaplinsky Wedding Update - 22nd Aug 2005

BBC Breakfast presenter and Strictly Come Dancing star, Natasha Kaplinsky married her investment banker Justin Bower after a whirlwind romance.

The couple, both aged 32, had been engaged for less than three months. Although as the pair smiled for the camera they looked very much the loving couple.

The ceremony was held at St Margaret’s Chapel, in the grounds of Babington House, a luxury hotel near Bath and was attended by 100 close friends and family.

Kaplinsky had said earlier that she would have liked to get married in jeans. Although there wasn’t a trace of denim in site for the beautiful bride as she wore a stunning white satin gown by Kruszynska Couture.

Bower looked every bit the handsome groom in his traditional morning suit with a white orchid buttonhole that matched Natasha’s bouquet.

A spokes person for the couple said: "They are overjoyed to be married. Both Natasha and Justin said it was the most incredible day of their lives."
