Hollywood’s hottest couple, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, are set to tie the knot in Mexico.
The couple had originally planned to marry at Christmas, in Cancun, but Tom decided to bring the ceremony forward when Katie discovered she was pregnant.
A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Tom's old fashioned. He wants his child to be born in wedlock. He's very romantic and wants everything to be in place before the birth. They both decided on the Ritz-Carlton in Cancun as soon as they got engaged and initially were planning on tying the knot around Christmas. Katie didn't know that she was pregnant, so their arrangements suddenly had to be scrapped."
Tom, 43, is reported to have asked the world acclaimed designer Giorgio Armani to design a vintage satin wedding gown for Katie, and have it ready for November.
A friend told The Sun newspaper: "Tom asked Giorgio to design the dress especially and he has had Katie in for several fittings. It's unusual for the groom to have a say in the dress, but he has had a lot of input. It seems Tom has a very clear idea of what he wants for the ceremony."
Close friends have reported that Katie, 26, is a little apprehensive about walking down the aisle with a bump on show.
However, this could be the least of Katie’s worries as Tom is attempting the ‘Mission Impossible’ of booking the entire Ritz-Carlton Hotel for the weekend so that the couple can have a private wedding. The hotel has a mammoth task ahead as it tries to change guest’s reservations who had already booked to stay.
The smitten couple also have the elements to contend with as the beautiful Caribbean island had recently been struck by a devastating hurricane.
Lets hope the ‘Gods’ will be on Tom and Katie side so that all they need worry about is remembering their wedding nuptials.
