Welcome To Our Newsletter
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!
Welcome to 2008 with Wedding Chaos - all those getting married this year.. does it feel ever so close now :)
This edition we take a look at our final wedding superstitions and traditions article, a closer look at sprucing up your venue with chair covers, we offer some advice for how to be a good Mother of the Bride, and how, as a bride you should work with your Mother, and we find out how the wedding went for both Nicky and Sam and Rosie and Steven.
The competition for you in this edition is to win a £50 Marks & Spencer Gift Card.
This edition is sponsored by Gemondo, the UK's largest online jewellers with over 5,000 different jewellery items. Gemondo offers free delivery on all orders within the UK.
Chair Covers
Most wedding venues have standard banqueting chairs. Don’t get me wrong there's absolutely nothing wrong with them, most of which happen to be very comfy and stylish. However they may not work with your choice of colour theme or just might not be to your taste.
The solution is to use wedding chair covers and coordinated table linen. Wedding chair covers allow you to personalise your dinning space, transforming ordinary chairs into elegant thrones for your guests.
There are hundreds of companies which are now springing up offering chair covers for hire, which means you can acquire the look of elegance at a very competitive price.
If you would like to know more about using chair covers for your wedding, then read here
Mother of the Bride
The traditional role for the Mother of the Bride can differ vastly in today’s modern wedding planning.
This could mainly be due to the fact that a lot of daughters have already left home and set up house with their partners long before their wedding date has been decided.
Are you a Bride in fear of your Mother when it comes to planning your wedding? Are you a Mother worried about how you can get involved and keep your daughter happy?
If you want some great advice about how best to avoid conflicts between the bride and her mother, then read here
Your Wedding - Your Story
In this edition we feature two weddings, those of Rosie and her husband Steven and forum nutter Nicki to her husband Sam in our Your Wedding - Your Story section.
Nicki and Sam got married on the 21st December and Rosie and Steven on the 1st December.
You can read all about Nicki's wedding here.
You can read all about Rosie's wedding here.
If you would like your wedding featured in this section please let me know
Traditions or Superstitions?
Part VI is the final part of our ongoing feature, Wedding Traditions or Just Superstitions, taking a look at a few more wedding traditions and superstitions.
Have you ever seen a car driving past with the words 'Just Married' written on the back and trailing behind are a load if tin cans, or perhaps shoes? Ever thought why? Why do we always say that the bride and groom are going to 'tie the knot' - have you ever seen a bride or groom tie a not? And just why does the groom have to carry the bride over the threshold!
If you would like to know why all this happens, take a read for yourself.
Tip of the Issue
Never to forget a single moment
"Take lots of mental steps back in the day, take in the people and the scenery around you, notice how you feel and do this as often as you can." Thanks to Catherine for this one.
To read more about how to soak in your day without letting it fly past, check the forum.
If you have any great tips please let us know on the forum
