Alternatives to Tossing the Bouquet
The tradition of throwing the bouquet is a bit uncertain with both England and France laying claim to the beginning of this custom.
Whichever country it originated from the belief is that during the 14th century the custom of ‘bedding the bride’, where the wedding guests would accompany the newlyweds to their matrimonial chamber, is thought to be the reason behind the throwing of the bride’s bouquet.

Having a Drinks Fountain
We have all seen delicate glasses built up into pyramid shapes with chilled champagne being poured very carefully into the top one with the champagne cascading down into tiered glasses, this idea, along with chocolate fountains are fast becoming one of the main features at weddings.
It therefore comes as no surprise to find out that fountains are taking the place of waiters walking around the room with balanced trays of drinks.

Displaying your Wedding Cake
Your wedding cake will be one of the crowning glories at your reception and not only do you want it to taste wonderful and be enjoyed by all you will also want the display of the cake to stand out and be remembered, as well as coordinate with your theme and personality.
A lot of time, thought and money will have gone into the selection of your wedding cake and it would be a shame if it was just ‘plonked’ down in a corner somewhere and not given the chance for the artistic beauty of the wedding cake to shine.

Men's Handkerchiefs
During the 1900’s the handkerchief was more of a symbol of male social status than feminine delicacy and no true gentlemen would be seen without one tucked into his breast pocket.
Carrying this idea forward to a wedding, the gooms suit can suddenly be transformed with the added colour of a silk handkerchief peeking out from the breast pocket as can a business suit with a crisp white linen square piece of cloth!
Grooms today give their outfits that touch of added class and sophistication by wearing matching cravats/ties and handkerchiefs and quite often they blend in with the waistcoat.

Historic Weddings
Reading a newspaper from 1960 brings back evocative memories as long forgotten detail are recalled.
Take this newspaper copy from the wedding of Princess Margaret and Antony Armstrong-Jones…
‘They are off on honeymoon – the gay Mr. and Mrs. Armstrong Jones…The Duke [of Edinburgh] was all smiles – in contrast to a sombre, rather serious-looking Queen…Queen Ingrid of Denmark has a quite word with a kilted Prince Charles…Simply beautiful – her dress was a dream in white.’
